My client needed a complete overhaul to her daycare web site as she is switching from caring for babies and toddlers to offering educational and fun activities for elementary school age children before and after school. Her need was immediate as she needed to quickly enroll school age children before the start of the school year, so I worked with her to come up with a simple, but attractive site in a very short timeframe.
Since she has minimal content, I suggested the idea of a one page site with scrolling buttons (activated by jquery) in between sections to help parents quickly access the information they need. Bright colors, bold fonts, and playful illustrations and buttons give this site a fun, child-like feel, while presenting information to parents in a concise, online lesson format.
For the final site, I added rounded rectangles with a gradient to further define and separate each section.
I had originally created the dragonfly illustrations with the idea of using them for a mobile app game, but they fit perfectly for this site were the perfect color and style to represent her daycare services.
